- This option allows you to mark the register. Experience shows that
- it takes about 10 mins to register a year group of 200 students with a
- little practice. As the mouse moves over the number squares the
- student's name is printed at the bottom of the screen. Clicking the
- left hand button will generally mark the student present. (See help on
- create menu 5 setting critical times for details of button action at
- different times in the day). The middle button marks A indicating that
- the student has been in but has gone off site for some reason. When a
- student returns an R is placed in the record showing that he has
- returned. As and Rs are ignored for statistical purposes and should be
- editted to present, absent or something else using the list menu. This
- current status is shown in the bottom right of the student's square.
- Every time a square is clicked the information is saved to disc so
- that in the event of someone switching off the computer, or using
- another program, reloading will let you commence from where you left
- off. In addition to this, logging in and out and lateness times are
- recorded in files so that they can be scrutinised later. Clicking on
- the "E" button will cause all students not marked present to be
- registered as absent automatically. The other screen buttons print
- login time files.
